Mary Shirley Lalonde

In Loving Memory of Mary "Shirley" LalondeShirley passed away January 6th 2026, at the age of 80. She was surrounded by her family. 

Shirley was the devoted wife of the late Gerry Lalonde. Dear sister to Colleen Scollon(Tom).She was a loving mother to her children, Michael Lalonde (Amy), Lynn McDougald and Allan Lalonde (Stephanie).She was a proud grandmother to Michael MacDonald (Sherri),Jordan McDougald(Hayley), Riley McDougald, Justin Lalonde, Cole Lalonde. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Keegan,Shelby and Khloe MacDonald.

Shirley was known for her kindness and steady strength. She spent many years working at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, where she dearly enjoyed her co-workers and the opportunity to help people.Shirley and Gerry shared a deep love for country music, attending many concerts both locally and "state-side. She found peace in classic movies, great novels, finding special treasures at garage sales and creating vibrant art in her adult coloring books. 

She was a natural storyteller who loved to sing, dance, and share a laugh. Her greatest love was always her family. Her final wishes and words to her loved ones were to "stay close and care for one another, "reminding them that life is not about possessions, but about the people we love".

A celebration of life will take place at The First Baptist Church where Shirley’s practice her faith in God. The services will be Saturday January 24th at 11:00am. 310 York Street, Cornwall, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society or Kidney Society would be appreciated in memory of Shirley.
