Mary Catherine Brazier

December 18, 1948 — November 7, 2024

Ottawa

After a lengthy battle with Parkinsons disease, Mary Brazier succumbed to injuries after a fall on the way to dance class. Mary, daughter of Leslie (deceased 1984) and Nadia Brazier (deceased 2007), sister of Anthony (Tony) Brazier (deceased 2012). Mary is survived by her sister-in-law, Susan Brazier, nephews Andrew and James Brazier, niece Kimberly Brazier, and grandnieces Audrey & Rebecca Brazier.

Mary was born and grew up in North York, Ontario. She spent her early years with her family and enjoyed time with them and the friends she made at Geneva Park. She was a graduate of York University and lived in Maple Ontario before moving to Nepean (a suburb of Ottawa.) She loved living in Ottawa and working for the City of Ottawa as a Librarian. Once retired she loved going for walks along the Ottawa River.

Mary never forgot birthdays. Family and friends looked forward to receiving her many cards & letters in the mail. They were always prompt - and always appreciated. Mary had many passions throughout her life - dance being the main one. She also had a passion for theatre, ballet, fashion, movies and music. Mary never missed a summer day at the pool! Her latest joy was spending holidays - and anytime she could - with her Grand Nieces, Audrey & Rebecca.

Mary loved life and was a joy to be with and will be missed by her family and many friends.

Special thanks to all the staff for Mary’s care at May Court Hospice in Ottawa.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions to The School of Dance program for people with Parkinson's will be gratefully accepted. To make a charitable donation in honor of Mary, please call The School of Dance Administration at 613-238-7838.
