It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, Mary Ann on June 21st, 2026.

Daughter of the late Majorie (Sarah) Witcufsky and Patrick William Curran.

Beloved and devoted wife of Leon Thomas (dd January 26th/25) for 73 years.

Loving mother to Karen (dd 1998), Nancy and Janis.

Adored Mama, grandmother to Sondra Gatien (Joshua Amaro) who held a special place in her heart.

Great grandmother to Leon Spirito and Anastasia Amaro. All of Ottawa.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Gosselin (CSJ); several nieces and nephews in Peterborough, Port Hope and Ottawa.

Sister-in-law to the late Vernon (Isobel), Elmer (Charlene), Roxie Brennan (Mike) and Phyliss Gosselin.

Mary Ann was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, a woman with a kind heart. Our home was filled with joy, laughter and unconditional love.

Mary Ann started her career at the age of 16 with Bell Canada. (Peterborough/Ottawa) where she remained until her retirement after a rewarding career. Mom was an avid golfer and talented painter

Interment will be held at a later date at Little Lake Cemetery in Peterborough.

In memory of Mary Ann donations may be made to MS Society of Ontario, Diabetes Canada, Peterborough Humane Society.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Chapel Hill Retirement Residence, Ottawa. Our Mom received exceptional care and compassion from all. A special note of thanks to Dr Elie Skaff for his kind caring to Mary Ann and family.

While Mom's passing grieves us deeply, we take comfort that Mom left us with cherished memories. Mom led a wonderful life and was deeply loved.
