Obituary

Mark Bellerdine, born on March 23, 1959, in Montreal, Quebec, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at The Ottawa Hospital - General Campus due to heart failure. His steadfast presence and dedication touched many, leaving a legacy of love, commitment, and generosity.

Mark devoted over 30 years of his life to TD Canada Trust Bank, where he built a distinguished career marked by professionalism and integrity. But beyond his professional achievements, Mark was a man who truly lived for his family and cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. His role as a father was paramount—he was the best dad anyone could ask for, always putting his children first and doing everything in his power to support and nurture them.

An active participant in his children’s sporting lives, Mark was often found on the sidelines, cheering passionately and offering encouragement. He was an ardent fan of baseball, particularly the Toronto Blue Jays, and hockey, always supporting the Ottawa Senators with enthusiasm. His love for sports extended to his personal interests as well, which included cooking, golf, and the thrill of driving various sports vehicles.

Music was another important part of Mark’s life, with classic rock holding a special place in his heart. This soundtrack accompanied many cherished memories shared with family and friends throughout the years. Beyond his joyful spirit and zest for life, Mark was also known for his generous nature, notably through his donations to the Heart Institute—a reflection of his caring and compassionate character.

Mark leaves behind his three beloved children: Chad Bellerdine (Julie Bellerdine), Cory Bellerdine (Melissa Bellerdine), and Brittany Bellerdine, and his grandchildren who survive him and carry forward his memory with love and pride. He also leaves behind his sisters Cathy McCann (Don) and Lori Ann as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Grace Tina Mariani Bellerdine and Edward Angelo Bellerdine. His deep devotion to his family, his humility, and kind spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 376 Vince Dr, Ottawa, Ontario, K1E 2E3. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor and remember a man who gave so much to those he loved and left an indelible mark on their lives.

Mark Bellerdine’s life was a testament to love, commitment, and generosity. He will forever be remembered as a caring father, devoted grandfather, and a friend to many—a man who truly lived for his family and embraced life with open arms.
