IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marjorie
Janes
Janes, Marjorie Joan (nee Cassman), May 5, 1922 – January 10, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Marjorie Joan Janes, on January 10, 2026, at the age of 103. Marjorie passed peacefully in her home in Mississauga. Marjorie was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Kenneth. She was a cherished mother to Leslie, Deborah (deceased) (Dave), Carol (David) and loving grandmother to Bobbi-Anne (Chad), Erin (Eric), and Ryan (Renee) and great grandmother to Kenneth, Megan, and Owen.
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Susan (nee Morris) and Albert John Cassman, and her siblings, Dorothy, Wilbert, Albert, and Frank. She was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Marjorie’s life focused on her deep love for her family. She and Ken raised the family in Alderwood and made lasting memories and friendships there. For most of her career, she worked as an executive secretary with McGuinness Distillers. After retirement and Ken’s death in 1998, she continued to be socially active and independent into her 90’s. With her companion cat, Tiger, she moved to Beechwood Retirement Residence and enjoyed a decade of friendships and care there. We would like to thank Lucille, Shola, Winnie “The Pooh”, Blessing and Amen for their personal care and love of Marjorie over the years.
Everyone who met Marjorie will remember her warm smile and generosity. It was always a good time for a cup of tea and a visit. The opportunity to go shopping, out for a drive, or try a new restaurant was never to be missed. She will be remembered for a great sense of style and elegance.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cremation has taken place. A family burial and celebration of Marjorie’s life will take place in May.
