Marilyn Hawkins (née Holmes)

Our loving mother, Marilyn Hawkins (née Holmes), passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 16, 2025, at the age of 87 after a long battle with dementia. She was born on June 23, 1937, in Ottawa to Ida Lucy Holmes (née Murphy) and Michael William Holmes. Predeceased by her siblings Eleanor, Victor, Leonard, Bernice, Kathleen (Kay), and William (Bill). Beloved wife and best friend for 61 years to Ronald Edward Hawkins.

She was the most kind and caring person to everyone who crossed her path in life. She had a warm heart and generous spirit, she will be sadly missed by her daughters Deborah (Larry), Sharon (Louis), Kim (Dominic), Joan (Terry).

Wonderful Nan to Stephanie (Nathan), Natasha, James (Sarah), Jenna, Kayleigh (Jonathan), Corey (Ashley), Scott, Kristen (Anthony), Nicholas (Myckayla). Proud Great Nan to Lincoln, Claire, Hunter, Colton, Lily, Everett and Myles. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A mass will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025, at 11 am at Our Lady of Visitation at 5338 Bank St. Ottawa, ON. A memorial gathering will follow to celebrate Marilyn’s life.
