Mary (Marie-Angele) Haddad Sambar, lovingly known as Teita Mimi to her grandchildren, was born on October 1, 1930, in Tripoli, Lebanon.
She was the eldest of six children to Khalil Haddad and Najla Maatouk. In 1957, she married George Sambar, who preceded her in passing in 2020.
She was the mother of Hani (Rima), Majd (Nadwa), Habib (Maha), and Arthur (Katherine). She was the grandmother of George, Andrew, Gabriella, Nadine, Rania, Camille, Philip, Selina, Nicolas, and Marcus Sambar, and the great grandmother of Mustapha, Adam, and Naïa.
After completing high school in Tripoli, she earned her nursing degree from the American University of Beirut. She went on to work at AUB Hospital where she took great pride in her work as a registered ER nurse.
In the 1970's, she left Beirut with her family to move to Toronto, Canada. Her strength and devotion shaped the lives of her sons and set the foundation for the generations that followed. Nothing brought her more joy than her family, who were the most important thing in her life.
Mary will be remembered for her generosity, resilience, and her love for her family. Her memory lives on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Our family would like to thank Minerva Pura and the staff at Malton Village for the incredible care they provided in Mary's last years of life.
Services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at St. John's Dixie on 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, Ontario starting at 12pm followed by a reception.
