Maria (Mia) VandenHazel

Maria (Mia) VandenHazel (nee Valk) passed away peacefully in her 100th year on May 17, 2024. Mia is preceded in death by her loving husband Bessel. Born in Breda, in the Netherlands, Mia previously resided in St Thomas, North Bay and Woodstock, Ontario. 

Mia is lovingly remembered by her children Vivian (Harold) of Cobourg, Anita (Jeff) of Calgary, and Mark (Claudia) of Mississauga. Adored grandmother of Tim, Jessica and Jeremy. Fondly remembered by her close friends Joanne and Leo Donkers, Lois and Peter Cline of St Thomas, and Joy McKenzie of New Brunswick. Dear sister-in-law of Tineke, and aunt of Ruby, Betty, Yvonne, Jerko, Edwin, Martijn, Annemieke, Rob, Wouter and Boudewijn all of the Netherlands. A private service will be held June 25, 2024 in St Thomas.
