Marguerite Therese Corcoran (nee Campeau)

June 26, 1951 — January 25, 2024

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Maggie, on January 25th, 2024 at the age of 72 with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Ian of 50 years; her parents Aldege and Jeanette Campeau; brother Charles, and sister Suzanne. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Jacqueline and Madeline; her children Darius, Jessica, Andrea (Bob); her grandchildren Kirsten (Parker), Hailey (Dom), and Carley; and the twinkle of her eye and partner in crime, her great-grandson Pryce, and many family and friends

Maggie set down her roots in Merrickville over 50 years ago creating many lasting friendships.  She volunteered countless hours at the Merrickville Public School while her children attended and enjoyed supporting the teachers and students. Many knew her as the local seamstress. She was commissioned by Heritage Canada in creating many of the period costumes used at historical events.  She also worked at several local retail stores where she loved to share the history of the Rideau Canal, the village, and meeting people from around the world.

A special thanks to her PSW’s Bonnie and Derek, her nurse Becky, Dr. K. Mossman and her Team who provide exceptional care with compassion, the pharmacists and staff at the Merrickville Drug Mart for their support and compassion of the years.

A celebration of life will be held for Maggie and Ian on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 2-4pm at the Maple and Rose at 205 Mill St, Merrickville, ON. Maggie loved to feed people, so in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the local food bank.
