Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Saunders, who passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 84 years old.

Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose kindness, strength and love touched everyone who knew her.

She dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter and compassion.

Born on August 30, 1941, in London, Ontario, Canada, she was an avid reader and scholar with a thirst for learning. She loved being in nature, gardening and cooking.

At 44 years of age, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology with distinction from Carleton University.

Mum was our greatest cheerleader. She had an ability to support and encourage everyone to do their best and not give up.

She is survived by her sister Madeleine Saunders and sister-in-law Lurlene Saunders. Her sons Paul Khadr, Jimmy Johnston, and son-in-law Tyson Proulx. Daughter Sarah Johnston, and daughter in law Delicia Khadr.

She is also survived by grandchildren Ashley, Adam, Jade, Lilah and Aunyx. Great-grandchildren Cordell and Don Xavier. Niece Donna Kyd and husband Allan Kyd. Grand-niece to Kasey Larson and husband Nick Larson. Grand-nephew's Tyler and Ben Kyd.

Pre-deceased by her late father George H. Saunders and mother Frances Mary Saunders. Her brother Harry Saunders and niece Debbie Pedden and her son Alexander Khadr.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the many memories she leaves behind and love she shared throughout her life.

"Forever loved. Forever remembered."

Celebration of life to be announced at later date. Donations can be given to the kidney foundation.
