Margaret Roschuk passed away peacefully at long term care in Mississauga on January 2, 2026. She was 88 years old and just one week shy of her 89th birthday. Even though she had been in declining health for the last several years, her spirit of warmth, kindness and resilience still stood out.
Margaret was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1949. She was predeceased by her parents (John and Elizabeth Walker), her older sister Mary, and her loving husband Stephen, of which she was married to for 65 years. She is survived by her two children John (Tina) and Janet (Mike) as well as her sister Heather and grandchildren Morgan, Stephen and Griffin. Margaret was a devoted spouse, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother.
Margaret had a large circle of friends, and was known for her unwavering support, warm smile and the generosity she extended to everyone she met. She had numerous hobbies and interests including golf, bridge, sewing, painting and cooking. She had a great sense of style and a flair for decorating on a budget. She and Stephen travelled extensively to many countries including Japan, South America and Europe and had many wonderful years wintering in Naples, Florida and summering on Lake Erie in Port Colborne.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be no public funeral, and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
