Margaret Henderson

In Loving Memory of Margaret McFarlane McKelvie McMartin Henderson

December 17, 1936 – November 6, 2025

With deep love and gratitude, the family of Margaret Henderson announces her peaceful passing on November 6, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born in Scotland on December 17, 1936, Margaret carried with her the warmth, humour, and steadfastness of her Scottish roots throughout her life. In 1966, she and her beloved husband Tommy made the courageous decision to emigrate to Canada, bringing with them their three young children to begin a new chapter in Port Credit Ontario. Together, they built a life grounded in hard work, devotion, and love—a true partnership that set the foundation for generations to come.

Margaret was a devoted wife to Tommy, who predeceased her, and a loving mother to Marie (spouse Barry), Tom (partner Kristina), and Lynn (spouse Tim), who passed before her. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her family. She took immense pride in her grandchildren Jennifer (spouse Vince), Brad (partner Jeremy), Nicole, and Jamie Lynn (spouse Riley), and found joy and laughter in her great-grandchildren Jackson (10), Logan (6), and Lena (9 months).

After retiring, Margaret and Tommy enjoyed many cherished winters in Florida, basking in the sunshine and sharing new memories together. Though she embraced her life in Canada, a part of her heart always remained in Scotland, where her dear sister Marie, still resides with her family.

A woman of grace, strength, and deep faith, Margaret was a proud and active member of St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church in Port Credit. Her kindness, wit, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered by those who were lucky enough to know her.

A visitation will be held at St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, 24 Stavebank Rd, Mississauga, ON L5G 2T5, on Monday, November 17, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service of remembrance at 11:00 a.m.

Margaret’s family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with Tommy and Lynn, and that her legacy of love and family will continue to shine brightly through all who loved her.

In Margaret's memory, please consider a donation to St. Andrew's Memorial Presbyterian Church in Port Credit, or to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
