With deep love and sadness, the family of Margaret Mary Charron announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 90. Margaret passed away in her sleep at Forest Hill Long Term Care in Kanata, after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure and COPD. 

Born in Ottawa, Ontario on November 30, 1935, Margaret spent many cherished years living in Ottawa, Ontario, where she created a warm and welcoming home for her family.

Margaret was the devoted mother of: Gary Donovan (Carolle), Cathy Nowak (Peter), Mike Donovan (Janet), Judy Donovan. 

She was a proud and loving grandmother to:Andy LaBelle (Jenn Chretien), Michael Donovan (Amanda), Candice Donovan, Kate Donovan, Sondra LaBelle (Kevin Gaudet), John Donovan (Ashley), and Meghan Donovan.

Her legacy continues through her many great‑grandchildren: Sierra LaBelle (Hayden Cristina), Teagan Donovan, Kenadie Donovan, Karson Donovan, Miley LaBelle, Aiden LaBelle, Amira Gilson, Coralie LaBelle, Rori Gilson, and Jordyn Gaudet.

She was also a loving step–great‑grandmother to Lybbie Gaudet and Noah Gaudet.

Margaret is predeceased by her spouses Bernard Donovan and Wayne Charron, as well as her great‑grandson Oaklee Sneddon She is survived by 3 of her siblings Robert Cummings, Marlene Gordon, and James Cummings, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family through her two loving marriages.

Margaret will be remembered for her strength, her quiet resilience, and the deep love she held for her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit lives on in the generations she nurtured.

Honouring her wishes, a quiet family service will be held. 

Margaret also expressed her hope for a joyful celebration of her life — a backyard gathering at her daughter’s home when the weather allows.
