Obituary

Surrounded by the love of his family, Marcel Chartrand passed away peacefully on September 18th at the age of 75.

Marcel was the beloved husband of 53 years to his recently deceased wife, Paulette (Piette). He will forever be cherished and deeply missed by his sons, Michel (Lyndsay Haggerty) and Shawn (Linda Ferro Chartrand). Marcel was a very proud Grand-papa and will be lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren, Jaxson, Brielle, Giulia and Sofia.

He will be remembered by his siblings Raymond (Hélène), Claude (Lorraine), Albert (Bonnie), and Bernard (Linda), as well as by his brother-in-law Robert Piette (Susan), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Marcel was the son of the late Réal Chartrand and Lucia (Bazinet).

He was predeceased by his siblings Rénald (Rita), Claudette, and Lise Delarosebil (whose spouse,Jean-Marc Lambert, survives).

Marcel worked most of his life as an appliance technician, taking great pride in his honest, dependable work ethic and in treating everyone fairly. Following his retirement, he formed many meaningful friendships through the Russell Curling Club, where he not only enjoyed playing but also generously volunteered his time helping with maintenance.

Marcel also found great enjoyment working at GreyHawk Golf Club, where he maintained a fleet of golf carts. Whether at work or volunteering, Marcel took pride in everything he did and always gave his best.

His time at GreyHawk brought him not only enjoyment, but also many wonderful friendships that he valued greatly.

In keeping with Marcel’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Marcel was a gold member blood and plasma donor with the Canadian blood sevices, having given over 200 times. In his memory, donations can be made to :
