Marcel Raymond Joseph Bélanger

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcel Raymond Joseph Bélanger, who passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 73.

Marcel lived in Ottawa and dedicated over 30 years of service to Montfort Hospital. He will be deeply missed by his loving daughter, Julie Rachelle Marie Bélanger, and his cherished granddaughter, Sophia Joyce Stewart. He is also survived by his sisters, Francine Bélanger, Louise Fitzsimmons, and Guy Bélanger, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marcel was predeceased by his parents, Cécile Soucy-Bélanger and Germain Bélanger, and his sister, Diane Villeneuve (née Bélanger).

Marcel was known for his easygoing nature and friendly personality. He loved going out for breakfast with friends, sharing laughs, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures, especially chocolate. Anyone who knew him knew that conversations with Marcel were often short, just the way he liked them, but always filled with warmth and humor.

A special and heartfelt thank you is extended to his former spouse, Jeanine Cottee, for the care, kindness, and support she gave Marcel over many years.

As per his wishes, Marcel will be cremated and laid to rest privately.

He will be forever loved and remembered.
