February 18, 1954 — December 29, 2023

Mom,

When we heard the news of your passing, it was without a doubt the most difficult thing any of us have ever had to endure.

You were always our support system, our rock, our shoulder to cry on, our "go-to", and someone we could always turn too, no matter what, under any circumstance.

Every time we asked for help, advice or simply your time, the answer was always yes.  We all felt able to discuss anything and everything with you from life and career advice, cooking lessons, help in handling situations with our kids, or what to do in a seemingly endless list of medical situations.

You selflessly put everyone’s needs ahead of your own and made sure all those around you were taken care of first, and never wanted to be the centre of attention.
Oddly enough you achieved the opposite where you became the centre of our worlds and a integral part of our lives, and for this we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

You were our confidante, and offered so much support we can’t even begin to describe how much you meant to us.

We have endless memories with you growing up, and couldn’t possibly list them all, but some of our fondest were:

-every morning coming down to the living room and squeezing into the chair beside you in the living room to snuggle
-if we were scared of a thunder storm and would stand on your side of the bed, you would sense we were there and wake up to calm us down
-when you would listen for hours on end no matter how long winded or complicated our stories were
-your love of shopping, travelling, and arts and crafts.
- your home cooking especially your famous macaroni and cheese, glazed carrots, coleslaw, and apple crisp
-your patience in listening to endless backstreet boys for many sick days during high school.  So much so that "Get down" became your new favourite song
-
always being there for us before and after school, attending all our school events like plays and concerts, and always being present for our activities like karate and archery.

We loved how every pet we had growing up was always by your side, as if they were drawn to you.  People often say pets are the best judge of character in a person, and you are a testament to that.

You made us feel safe, protected, and supported and it is these qualities we have embodied in raising our own children.

Thank you for setting the example of what a long and successful marriage should be.  Your 50 years of marriage with dad and
your witty humor, love, and affection with him is something we will always both admire and aspire too.

Mom, you will be dearly missed by our entire family and everyone who knew you.  The world is a different place without you.

We love you.
