Lucille Simone Lalonde, Loose Wheel to some (Nee Dubé) passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by her beloved husband and children at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. Lucille was a cherished member of her family and will be remembered for her kindness, humor, and unwavering love for those around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Wilfrid Bernard Lalonde, and their three children: Christine Bergeron (married to Peter Bergeron), Marc Lalonde (married to Pam Curtise Lalonde), and Chantal Eardley (married to Matthew Stansel). Lucille took great joy in being a grandmother to five grandchildren—Eric and Luc Bergeron, Hunter and Ayrn Lalonde, Mathew Eardley—and was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Zayden and Zarha-Mae Bergeron, and Graham Heron-Bergeron.

Lucille was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Joshua Eardley. She also mourned the loss of her siblings: Rita Riou (nee Dubé), John Dubé, Florian Dubé, Ronald Dubé, Marcel Dubé, and Gille Dubé, who are fondly remembered.

Throughout her life, Lucille maintained a profound devotion to her family, embracing every moment spent with them, often infused with light-heartedness and laughter. She had an innate ability to brighten the room and enjoyed lively gatherings with loved ones. Lucille's caring nature extended beyond her family as she worked for the government and at the Ottawa Citizen in her younger years and later spent meaningful time at Bowie’s accessories alongside her dear friends, Claudette and Debbie Bowie.

Lucille’s legacy is one of a wonderful family-oriented woman with a huge heart who brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. Her family has announced there will be a private celebration of life with immediate family, with the date to be determined.

She will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered for her spirit, love, and the impact she had on all who knew her.
