Lucille Barbara Gunton nee Jean of Barrie, Ontario was born in Thunder Bay on August 31, 1953. She passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie after a short illness on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Lucille was the beloved wife of Terry Gunton, a dear mother to the late Edward and survived by her son, Jeff Gunton, his friend Grace, and was the cherished grandmother of Breanna, Jordan and Kaleb.

Lucille found peace and acceptance through the loving support and care of her family, as well as, through her deep and abiding faith. Lucille loved children and was deeply devoted to her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. For many years she found her calling in providing safe transportation for children as a school bus driver. She often shared joyful stories of her years behind the wheel and the many children she had the pleasure of knowing.

Lucille was at the heart of family gatherings, where her warmth, generosity, and deep connection to family and friends brought everyone together. Her caring nature and willingness to be there for others will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Lucille will be dearly missed by her family and friends and lovingly remembered for the kindness, devotion and faith she shared throughout her life.
