In Loving Memory of Luc
Luc grew up in Smoothrock Falls, where his love for hockey began—a passion he carried throughout his life, first as a young player and later as a dedicated referee for many years. A true outdoorsman, Luc found peace and joy in nature, especially during cherished times at Louis’s camp and ice fishing with Christine and friends at Nighthawk Lake.
Luc was known far and wide for his unmistakable laugh—it could carry across any room or rink and instantly light up hearts. A natural entertainer, he often broke into spontaneous dance moves at gatherings, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He was a loyal and devoted friend to many, always ready with a smile, a joke, or a helping hand.
Luc's deep sense of service extended into his work as a custodian at several schools, where he was beloved by staff and students alike. His courage was as strong as his kindness—he once ran into a burning fire to extinguish flames and protect those inside.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: his loving spouse Christine, his treasured stepdaughters Meghan Watt (Nicholas Lapointe) and Abigail Watt, and his son Corey Bernard. His siblings Marc Bernard, Diane Villeneuve (Randy), and Monique Theriault (Gilles) will miss him dearly. He was the loving son of predeceased Bernice and Yvon Bernard.
In his final moments, Luc was surrounded by love, passing peacefully to the song Love of My Life. No words are big enough to measure the true kindness of his heart.
