With thankfulness and rejoicing in the faithfulness of God, we announce that LORRAINE NADINE AMBROSE (née Alexander) went home to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on November 12, 2024, after a lengthy health battle.
Lorraine was born on March 30, 1949 in the Parish of St. Andrews, Jamaica to Dougal and Mae Alexander. In 1952, Lorraine and her two sisters, Donna and Wendy, moved with their parents to Toronto, Canada.
Being predeceased by her parents and her sister, Donna, Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Gary Ambrose. She was a loving and prayerful mother to Aaron and Graham (Lisa) Ambrose and the cherished grandmother of Brasen, Nia, Danica, Ashton and Olivia Ambrose.
She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and her visitor friends, Chippy Chipmunk and Poppy Squirrel, whose antics she loved to watch as she enjoyed feeding (or over-feeding) them.
The void of her presence will be greatly felt by her Faith Alive Christian Church family, whom she loved and was dedicated to.
Lorraine was an evangelist through and through; she lived to share her faith in Jesus Christ with anyone who would lend an ear. She had a heart for the down-and-outers and her compassion led her to continually reach out to the hurting and lost. Lorraine has fought the good fight, she has finished her race, she has remained faithful. Her life has been poured out as an offering to the Lord, whom she loved with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday November 19th at 11 am at Faith Alive Christian Church, 140 Mapleton Ave, Barrie. (SDA church Building) A light reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honour can be made to Faith Alive Christian Church of Barrie. https://www.faithalivebarrie.org/giving/, Faith Alive Church, P.O. Box 35005 Essa Road. RPO, Barrie, ON L4N 5Z2
