Lois Lidster

July 15, 1960 — February 25, 2024

Moose Creek

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lois Lidster at the age of 63, on February 25th, 2024, at the Carefor Hospice in Cornwall, ON. Lois was surrounded by the unwavering love and support of her family.

Lois will be missed dearly by her loving husband of 38-years, Jim Lidster, and their two daughters Lindsay (Cody) and Candice (Bradley). Daughter of late Harry and Eva Hearns (nee Geen). Dear sister to Randy (Susan), Lori (late Wayne), and Linda (Jerry). Adoring grandmother to Wesley and Ainsley. Lois’s memory will also be cherished by her stepson Dylan Lidster (Tara) and family, cousins, nieces and nephews, and her closest friends.

Lois lived most of her life in Frankford ON, working and retiring at the Frankford Post Office, before moving to Moose Creek ON to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life, she spent many happy summers at the family cottage on Eagle Lake which she shaped into a Shangri-la for all those who visited. Lois was an avid pool player in women’s leagues and loved baseball, fishing, and taking photos. She found joy in the simple things in life, especially games of all kinds like cribbage, euchre, and shuffleboard, both to pass the time with her husband, and for friendly competition within local clubs.

In this time of grief, we remember Lois as a kind, gentle, and warm soul who left an enduring mark on all of those who were fortunate enough to know and befriend her. Though she left many behind too soon, may the memories of her bright smile and laughter be sources of comfort during this difficult time.

A burial service for family and friends to honour Lois’s life will be held at the Stockdale Cemetery (995 Will Johnson Rd, Frankford) on Saturday April 27th at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with her late parents. An open invitation to gather for a Celebration of Life will follow at The Royal Canadian Legion (12 Mill St, Frankford) from 2:00 – 4:30 PM.

We appreciate the peace, comfort, and dignity offered by the hospice staff during Lois’s palliative care. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Carefor Hospice Cornwall (1507 Second St. West, Cornwall, ON).
