It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lise Alice Marie Monette, who died on April 22, 2026, due to complications arising from myotonic dystrophy. She lost her battle with this awful disease three days shy of her 61st birthday.

Before her passing, Lise received great care at the Ottawa General Hospital for three months, followed by one week at Bruyère Health Saint-Vincent Hospital.

She found great joy in knitting, a passion she generously shared with those around her. Friends and family welcoming a new child could often look forward to receiving one of her lovingly hand-knitted baby blankets.

Lise will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her partner, Richard Lafontaine and his family, and her sister Lucie (Jean Viau).

Lise was laid to rest during a private family ceremony at Notre-Dame Cemetery on June 18, 2026.
