Lise Jennings

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lise Jennings (née Amyot), on September 7, 2026, at the age of 71, after a long and courageous battle with Endometrial cancer.

Strong-willed, determined, and always up for an adventure, Lise lived life to the fullest. She was an avid sports enthusiast, and devoted Blue Jays fan, who enjoyed playing pickleball, softball, golf, and bowling. She loved being active and never shied away from a challenge—including hiking the Grand Canyon in 2012.

Throughout their retirement, Lise and her husband David embraced the snowbird lifestyle, travelling south to Arizona each winter in their RV. They enjoyed the warmth, the freedom of the open road, and plenty of time on the golf course. Summers were spent closer to home with family, while golfing, cycling and enjoying the outdoors. Their love of travel and adventure took them to places near and far, from exploring Iceland, enjoying river cruises throughout Europe, to traveling across North America on their motorcycle.

While Lise loved staying active and experiencing all that life had to offer, her family always remained at the heart of it all—especially when she became a grandma. She was always there to support her grandkids, cheering them on from the sidelines, driving them to practices and games, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being present. She never hesitated to get down to their level to play, laugh, and make memories with them.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 49 years, David Jennings; and devoted children Kathy, Renée, Adam, and Paul. Cherished grandma to Christopher (Taylor), David, Liam, Dylan, and Kaelan, and proud great-gramma to her three (3) great-grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by her grandpups, Koda and Elsa, and Lily the cat.

Lise will be deeply missed by her brother Robert (Lucie) and her sisters Paulette, Monique (Tom), and Margot, as well as many nephews and nieces along with their families. She will always be in the hearts of her inlaws Kent (Linda), Kathy and extended family members, while leaving fond memories with the many friends and connections she made throughout her active life and travels.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Pauline and Maurice Amyot, and her sister Suzanne.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Oncology Team at the Ottawa Hospital General - Cancer Center as well as all of the caring and compassionate nurses and staff of the Hospice Care at Cité Parkway Retirement Residence for the kindness and care they provided to Lise and her family.

In keeping with Lise's wishes, an intimate graveside service will take place at Hope Cemetery at 10:00am. We will be wearing Toronto Blue Jays T-shirts and/or hats for those who wish to pay tribute.

The family will be continuing on to a Celebration of Life held at Stacked Smoke Meat & Grill located at 2679 Bank St.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lise’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Her strength, determination, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
