Lionel Gerard Benoit

It is with deep sadness that the family of Lionel Gerard Benoit, lovingly known as "Pop Pop", announces his sudden and unexpected passing on December 2, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario, at the age of 49.

Lionel will be forever remembered by his beloved wife Rachel Lanthier, and by his son Serge Larcher (Amanda Parent-Lauzon). He was a proud and devoted Pop Pop to his cherished grandchildren Nickolas Larcher, Lukas Larcher, and Anthony Parent-Lauzon, who brought him endless joy.

He leaves behind his mother Marie Collier, his sister Rhoda Benoit, and his niece and nephew, Kate Wilcott and Jackson Wilcott, all of whom will miss him deeply. Lionel is predeceased by his father, Raymond Benoit.

Lionel’s life, though cut far too short, was filled with love, humour, and a steady kindness that touched everyone who knew him. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends.

The family is grateful for the thoughts, prayers, and support received during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers/donations may be made directly to his wife, Rachel Lanthier, to help with unexpected final expenses.

Lionel will be remembered always, loved forever, and missed beyond measure.
