Linda Marie Johnsen, beloved mother grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 20, 2024, at Cornwall Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.
Linda was born on September 12, 1959, to Harry and Joyce Stewart in North Bay, Ontario. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her siblings Lee Seguin, Peggy Cook (Richard Cook), Randy Stewart, Larry Stewart (Lee Gubicza-Stewart), Patrick Stewart, Sandy Dermann (Paul Dermann), and Terry Luckey (Ashley Luckey).
As a devoted mother, Linda found her greatest joy in raising her two children who she raised with her former husband, Joseph Johnsen. She leaves behind her daughter Sarah Vernier (Gilles Vernier) and son Sterling Johnsen (Kim Johnsen). Linda also adored being a grandmother. She cherished the special bond she shared with her thirteen grandchildren: Jordyn, Brennan, Aly, Danika, Eva, Aryonna, Addyson, Samuel, Owen, Avery, Hudson, Jaxson and Rylan. Her love extended even further as she became a great-grandmother to Tahlia, Raiden, Navy, and AJ. Linda treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being made to celebrate Linda's beautiful life in both Cornwall, Ontario, and North Bay, Ontario. These gatherings will serve as an opportunity for family and friends to come together and share stories of their cherished memories. Linda impacted the lives of many, leaving behind an enduring legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Carefor - Cornwall Hospice. Linda experienced firsthand the exceptional care and support provided by this organization during her time at Cornwall Hospice. Contributing to their noble cause is a meaningful way to honor Linda's memory.
