It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leon Joseph Le Breton in Ottawa, Ontario, on June 9, 2026, at the age of 68.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, to the late Onile and Angela Le Breton (née Young), Leon spent his early years in Toronto before moving to Blanchard Settlement, New Brunswick, as a teenager. He later made Ottawa his home, where he lived for much of his adult life.
Leon lived a full and hardworking life, taking on many different jobs over the years and earning the respect of those who worked alongside him. He was known for his strong work ethic, gentlemanly nature, and kindness toward others. Family and friends often described him as someone who would give the shirt off his back to help another person. Whether lending a hand, sharing a story, or offering support when needed, Leon touched the lives of many people over the years.
Above all else, Leon deeply loved his wife, Wendy Brockington. His care and devotion to her remained steadfast throughout their lives together.
Leon will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendy, and by his extended family and friends.
Leon was happiest when sharing a meal, telling stories, or spending a day on the golf course. He was a great cook who took pride in preparing meals for family and friends. He will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, quiet strength, and the genuine care he showed to those around him.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal funeral service. A private family gathering will take place at a later time in New Brunswick to honour his memory and scatter his ashes in a place that was meaningful to him.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at May Court Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Leon's final days.
Though he is gone, the memories, stories, and kindness he shared will remain with those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society in memory of Leon.
