It is with a heavy heart we share the news of Lawrence ( Larry ) Alexander Savage’s passing on January 20, 2026, at the age of 69. Larry was born on April 4, 1956, in Bellville, Ontario, to Alexander Savage (Goderich) deceased, and Valerie Pound (Tallahassee).
Larry passed away peacefully. He fought hard in an unfair fight against a brain tumour. He is gone but won’t ever be forgotten.
He is survived by Lori Savignac, his devoted wife and best friend for 22 wonderful years, and his son Jeffrey (Surrey, BC), and his ex-wife Debbie Hinksman (Nanaimo, BC). Larry also leaves behind his sister Patti (Wayne) Koch, brother Robert Savage, step-siblings Cheryl Buckham and Harold Duesbury (Linda) and his nephews Matthias Savage and Ben Koch.
Larry was a civil servant with the federal government for 25 years. He will be remembered fondly as a wonderful storyteller, athlete, friend and a creative board game player. His analytical skills and creative mind always brought joy and laughter to everyone who played with him. He loved playing and running board games at the Canada Games held in Ottawa and every year.
Larry was a wonderful singer like his Mom, and sang as a paid lead singer in the choir for years at the Southminister United Church on Bank Street. His beautiful singing and speaking voice will be missed.
Larry was constant supporter of the Kingston 4 Paws service dogs, kingstonservicedog.ca, an organization that provides trained service dogs to people facing physical, neurological, or mental health challenges, empowering them and their families to navigate life.
Celebration of life will be held in the spring at a yet to be determined date and location.
