Lawreen Pratt

Passed peacefully, in her 92nd year, at the Longfields Manor nursing home in Ottawa on May 30th, 2021. Daughter of Lawrence and Lily Pratt, Lawreen is survived and will always be lovingly remembered by her sister Judith (and her husband Jesus), sons Steven (and his wife Linda), Brian (and his wife Lucie), and Terrence (and his wife Diane), 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Lawreen greatly treasured her extended family, gracefully presiding over many familial gatherings as our dear matriarch. Everyone in the family eagerly embraced her abiding love of literature, music, art and history. Our family gatherings always featured great conversation, laughs aplenty, fine food and drink and above all, live music played by her extended progeny.

Lawrie will also be remembered fondly by her many friends, most notably at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ottawa.

There will be a memorial celebration of her long and accomplished life, for family and friends at some point in the future.

Meanwhile, everyone is encouraged to ponder and reflect on the many great memories of their time in her company.

In lieu of flowers, you are invited to donate to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, plant a tree in her memory, and/or share a memory and thoughts on the Tribute Page.
