Laurier Gerry Joseph Jr. Lavigne, a cherished member of the Cornwall community, passed away suddenly on May 23, 2025, at the Cornwall Community Hospital. Born on January 22, 1968, in Cornwall, Ontario, Laurier was a dedicated body mechanic and carpenter, known for his skill and passion for his work.

Laurier had a multifaceted personality, embracing many interests that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. A passionate fisherman and avid camper, he found solace and joy in the great outdoors. His love for music was evident in his talent for playing the guitar, while his enthusiasm for old cars reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. He was also a regular attendee at the Cornwall Motor Speedway, where he enjoyed the thrill of the races.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his children: Jessica Lascelle (Joey) of Cornwall, Andrew Lalonde-Lavigne (Paula Horton) of Cornwall, Jonathan Lalonde-Lavigne (Bianca Carnochan-Monette) of Casselman, Kaylan Dixon, and Tyson Dixon. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Breanna, Tyson, Savanah, Kaiden, Nathan, Lexy, Skylee, and Arlo—and great-grandchildren, Gracelynn and Blakely.

Laurier is also survived by his siblings: Teresa Dupuis of Calgary, Alberta, Roxanne Lavigne-Baird (Keith Baird) of Kamloops, British Columbia, Dwayne (aka Dee) Lavigne (Anick) of Cornwall, and Wayne (aka Blackie) Lavigne (Penny Beckstead) of Cornwall. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews, including Chelsea, Nathan, Josh, Justin, Melissa, Karley and Jenna.

Laurier is predeceased by his parents, Colleen Dupis and Laurier Lavigne Sr., and his brother-in-law, Eric (aka Rick) Marbach.

He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his dedication to his craft, and the deep love he shared with his family and friends. Laurier Gerry Joseph Jr. Lavigne's impact on those who knew him will resonate long beyond his years.

A Celebration of Laurier's life will be held at a later date.
