Larry Kitchen

Larry Kitchen, a man who dedicated his life to the well-being of others, passed away on October 14, 2023, in Barrie, Ontario, at the age of 78. He was born on May 11, 1945, in Simcoe Ontario. He worked at General tire in Barrie where he was also a union rep. He also worked briefly at RVH as it transitioned from the old to the new.

Outside of work, Larry's endearing personality shone through in every aspect of his life. He possessed an exceptional ability to articulate his thoughts with eloquence and grace, making him well-spoken and well-written. Larry had a genuine passion for giving back to others and never asked for much in return. He truly epitomized selflessness and generosity.

One of Larry's favorite pastimes was being outdoors. Whether it was spending time in nature or tending to his own meticulously maintained lawn, he found solace and fulfillment in the beauty of the world around him. His attention to detail extended beyond nature; he applied the same conscientiousness to all aspects of life, even chores around the house.

Larry deeply cherished spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his brother Tom (Janet) from Panama, daughter Sarah Lynne, nephew Tom Jr. from Alberta, and his partner Arlene LeBlanc. Preceding him in death were his parents Harold and Lillian Kitchen, brother Ted, and sister Diane.

A visitation will be held to honor Larry's memory on October 27, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices - Jennett Memorial Centre, located at 152 Bradford St, Barrie, ON L4N 3B5, Canada. This will be a time for family, friends, and colleagues to come together and share their memories of Larry over some refreshments. A funeral liturgy will be held on October 28, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 65 Amelia street, Barrie immediately followed by burial at Stayner Union Cemetery, 7661 ON-26, Stayner, ON L0M 1S0.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Larry's name to a charity of your choice. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
