Kenneth “Ken” Micheal Hazzard

February 14, 1960 – September 14, 2026

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, Kenneth “Ken” Micheal Hazzard, who passed away in Oshawa on September 14, 2026, at the age of 66, after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Oshawa on February 14, 1960. Ken was a truck driver, spending more than 40 years behind the wheel. He worked for Oshawa Sand and Gravel for as long as his girls can remember, and worked there until his passing. He loved being behind the wheel, but his love for anything with a motor and wheels went far beyond his job. If it had an engine, Ken could probably fix it—and if he couldn’t, he would figure it out.

Ken had a big heart, a generous spirit, and a way of making sure the people he loved were taken care of. He was stubborn, thoughtful and kind. Ken was never one to pass up a chance to stop and chat, whether it was with family, friends, or whoever else he happened to run into at Walmart that day. No matter how much time had passed since you last saw him, talking with Ken always felt like picking up where you left off.

His daughters were his greatest pride and joy. Jessica and Monica were his whole world, and Ken never missed an opportunity to talk about them. He would tell stories about his girls to anyone who would listen, and he was endlessly proud of the women they had become. There was never any question about how much he loved his daughters.

When Ken wasn’t working, tinkering with something in his garage, talking about his girls, or watching hockey, drag racing or Corner Gas on tv— you could often find him doing one of his favourite things: cutting the grass. He took great pride in his lawn and could spend hours making sure it looked just right. It was one of those simple things that made him happy.

Kenny was truly one of a kind. He enjoyed life in his own way, on his own terms, and found happiness in the people he cared about and the simple, everyday moments that made this life his own.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jessica Hazzard (Ryan Jeethan) and Monica Hazzard (Kyle Dohm), his kitty, Thelma, and his big sisters Loretta Lee, Maureen Willis, and Elaine Hazzard, as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved dog, Kimo, and his parents, Marion (Palmer) Hazzard and Charles Hazzard.

Dad, we hope wherever you are, there are fast cars, pretty women, a loud Harley Davidson, and your best buddy, Kimo, by your side.

We love you. We miss you. And we’ll never stop talking about you—just like you never stopped talking about us.
