Kathleen Anne Upton

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Kathleen Anne Upton, known to many as Kathie or Kate. Kathleen passed away with her children by her side, on May 19th 2025, at the age of 67, after a brief battle with Ovarian Cancer. 

Kathleen was a loving mother and will be missed by her children Kallie (Brody) and Daniel (Charlene). She was also a caring sister, and took care of her brother William, who has Alzheimer's. She will also be dearly missed by her family and friends. Kathleen was always a shining light in the lives of those around her. Her love, kindness, strength and compassion will carry on in those who knew and loved her. 

Kathleen met many friends during her career at Air Canada. She took pride in her work and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She always had fun bowling with ACRA Bowling club as well. 

Kathleen loved animals and enjoyed watching the wildlife from her Lancaster home by the water, that she had moved to permanently April of last year. She had many pets throughout the years, fostered and adopted, that she cared for deeply. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, on the West Island in Montreal, QC. 

The family wishes to send their special thank you to the staff at Ottawa General Hospital and May Court Hospice, for their care and compassion these last few months. Kathleen was so grateful and talked so highly of those who helped her through her final journey, ‘the last waltz’.
