In Loving Memory of Jim Paquette
A former longtime resident of Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully in Ottawa on July 19, 2026 at the age of 96.
He was the loving husband of the late Joan Paquette, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. He was the beloved father of James (Pierrette) and David (Lynn). He was also the cherished Grandpa to Patrick (Alma), Kevin (Amy), Ryan (Isabel), Tyler (Maxime), and Brendan (Jessica), and the proud Great-Grandpa to Veronica, Isla, Lucas, Nathan, and Eva.
He is survived by his sisters in law and brother-in-law, Eileen Righton and Marilyn Worthy (Bob). He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Gladys, as well as his siblings, John (Geraldine) and Donald. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Jim had a dedicated 38-year career as a lab technician with Imperial Oil in Sarnia, retiring in 1986. It was in Sarnia where he and Joan raised their two sons and built a beautiful life. In 2011, they relocated to Ottawa to be closer to their children and grandchildren, creating many more treasured family memories.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Agneta Balla for her unwavering dedication and excellent care over the years. Deep gratitude is also extended to the Palliative Care Team (Ontario Health at Home) for their support, and to the staff and residents of Stillwater Creek Residence for their exceptional care and warm companionship.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church (3891 Richmond Rd, Nepean) on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Interment will follow at Notre-Dame Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be deeply appreciated.
