It’s with a heavy heart to share June Van Dine passed peacefully on February 2, 2026, in her sleep at 93, in Ottawa, a few short months from her birthday.

June was a feisty, driven, fun and devoted basketball player, nurse, strong volunteer, campaigner, advocate, dancer, scrabble player, card player (Bridge), baker, friend, sister, aunt, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma bringing her energy to Miramichi, Gravenhurst, Clinton, Lunenburg, Yellowknife, Sedgwick, Camrose and Ottawa. She enjoyed travel, books, parties, making a difference and of course her grandchildren. She practiced religion throughout her life, spending time with Baptist, Anglican and United Church communities. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation to the caregivers and medical professionals at the Elisabeth Bruyere Long Term Care Residence near the Byward Market, as well as the team and community at City View Retirement Community.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at SummerHays Grill at 1971 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario.

In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Yellowknife Seniors' Society.
