Judy Laukkanen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Judy.

Judy passed away suddenly on December 4th, 2024 of a heart attack at the Princess of Wales Theatre doing what she loved; working as a Costumer on the epic Lion King production.

She is survived by her 3 sisters Cynthia, Alice and Sarah, her nieces Lily, Michelle and Beverly and her half sister Lonnie, her cousins Tom, Jan and Ailiand Aria and her many other beloved relatives in Finland.

Judy loved to read, paint, make music, sing and support other musicians and their artistic endeavors. She had numerous film projects on her heart and was particularly passionate about telling the story of the Finnish Winter War.

She travelled the world and supported many charities. She had a special place in her heart for children without families.

Judy spent her free time at the beach with friends and family, going for long walks at conservation parks and dining out.

She excelled in her field as a Costume Supervisor and was nominated for two Emmys, bringing home one.

Her love for life and her posture of gratitude were contagious and she personified love everywhere she went and her faith in Christ Jesus was the foundation of everything she did.

She will be greatly missed.
