Judy Mary Ida Collings

It’s with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judy Mary Ida Collings (nee Tremblay) on April 29, 2024, at 80 years of age.

Born in 1943 on December 13th, which we mused made ‘13’ a good luck number in our family, Judy was a very good & kind person.  Always proud of her family as well as a lifetime of her different services & endeavours.

Judy’s history includes being a Junior Canadian Ranger, a life guard at the Mattagami river in Timmins Ontario, a corporal with the Royal Canadian Navy, an RNA, and also the first female RCSCC officer.

Judy really enjoyed walking, bicycling, & driving her little cars. She loved her travels to the East & West Coast and resided in both at different times.

Spending time with family, her grandchildren in particular whom she often took on ‘adventures’ was a favourite pastime.  She loved snowshoeing with friends at the cottage, enjoying good meals, her time at McIntyre Resort & taking photos.  She often took the perfect photos we are lucky to now have.

Devoted mother to Karen Dunstan (nee Collings) and Jana Collings (Alan Perello). Very proud grandmother of 5 adoring grandchildren Michael Collings Moore (spouse Sara-Anne Bélanger), Spencer Dunstan, Mitchell Dunstan (Ashley Taylor), Larch Perello and Elijah Perello.

Beloved daughter of predeceased May & Aurele Tremblay, Loving sister to predeceased siblings Terry, Christopher & Larry Tremblay.

Judy will also be dearly missed by all her nieces, nephews & close friends whom she loved & strove to stay in touch with.

We take some solace knowing that Judy lives on in all of us who have known & loved her and think of her every time we see her favourite flower- the dandelion.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood - our mom was able to stay & enjoy life with us for a few more good months due to this type of generous gift.

As per mom’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place.

We’d like to thank everyone for all their support during this difficult time including the caring staff at Hospice Vaughan. They were always so respectful and a source of strength at such a vulnerable time.
