Reverend Jonathan Kaan, a devoted servant of God, entered peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 25, 2025, at the age of 99. Born in Shunde, Guangdong, China, and raised in an orphanage founded by American missionary Ruth Hitchcock, Rev. Kaan dedicated his life to Christian ministry with the Alliance Church.

His missionary journey took him to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Canada, the United States, Australia, England, France, and parts of Africa, where he faithfully shared the good news of Jesus Christ, planted churches, and built up the body of Christ. In recognition of his lifelong service, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Canadian Theological Seminary in 1994.

He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, and twenty-three great-grandchildren, whose lives reflect the love and faith he so deeply instilled.
