John Peter Thomas

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John after battling a long time with Dementia at William Osler Hospital. 
Predeceased by wife Gwen and parents Jean Hanspiker , Dim Paris and Howie Hanspiker.
Survived by his children Shawn Thomas and Tammy Di Piazza. 
Grandchildren Tabitha Slattery, (Mike), Tyler Thomas,
Tanina Di Piazza, (Jeff), Anthony Di Piazza,  (Cheyenne)
and great grandchildren. 
Loved by family and many friends. 
Born in Truro, Nova Scotia lived in Toronto, Ontario from the  age of 15.

He was passionate about sports, spent thousands of hours watching Golf, Boxing, Baseball and his favorite Montreal Canadians. He was a boxer in his early 20's (Tommy) and enjoyed playing golf year's later and into his retirement from Nestle (Rowntree) after 44 years.
Predeceased by many coworkers and friends.

Anyone that met him was instantly a friend of his, he would always smile and say hi to everyone and welcome a conversation. 
He always loved being around his family and going out for dinner at Swiss Chalet. 
Even though he was battling Demetia he always remained happy and friendly.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. 

Cremation will take place immediately private family ceremony
