With profound sadness, we mourn the passing of John Scott, who left us on August 26, 2026. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Tanya, and their two cherished daughters, Lillian and Gwendolyn. He leaves behind his parents, Patrick and Gail of Kingston, and his sisters Stephanie (Matt) and Catherine (Nolan), both of Toronto and numerous cousins, uncles and aunts in Kingston and Ottawa. He was also a wonderful and devoted uncle to Ava, Blake and Maple who brought him such happiness and great joy. He had a wide swath of friends and work colleagues in Kingston, Ottawa, Belleville and Toronto. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and the joy he brought into every room he entered, the love he gave to his family, the kindness he showed to others, and the many memories he leaves behind in the hearts of those who ever met him. His loss leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, but his love and memory will remain with us always. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or to the Nature Conservancy of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Our thanks is extended to the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre and the ICU who gave exemplary care to him in his final weeks. A Celebration of Life in Kingston will be announced at a later date.
