John Edwin Nicol

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Nicol, age 73, at his home in Ottawa on August 13, 2024. He was born October 10, 1950 in Winchester, Ontario.

Loving father to Melanie Chevalier (Mark) of Ottawa, Samantha Nicol (Scott) of Pembroke and Johnathan Nicol of Ottawa. Dear brother of Debra Hall (Stephen) of Ottawa and Daniel Nicol (Sharon) of Winchester. John will be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren: Elexis, Cadence, Evelynn and Stanley. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephew, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret and his nephew Christopher. John will be remembered for his love of jiu-jitsu, wrestling and mixed martial arts.

There will be no visitation or funeral. In lieu we will have a private burial with a memorial gathering for his family at the Maple Ridge Cemetery.
