John Paul Fitzpatrick was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at the age of 70 after being admitted to the Ottawa Hospital. He was a fighter until the bitter end but passed away due to natural causes from kidney and liver failure.

He was a funny and charismatic man who loved to discuss all things political science. He loved music and was an avid CD collector who listened to his favourite tunes every morning. He loved his family and also enjoyed his frequent strolls in the neigbourhood.

He received his degree in Political Science from Carleton University and started down the path of a masters in theology at St. Paul's University in order to become a priest before meeting his soon to be wife.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalind Fitzpatrick, his daughter, Kara Irene DiProspero and his two brothers Joseph Fitzpatrick and David Fitzpatrick and their families.
