John Alexander Dunlop

April 1, 1978 – May 29, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of John Alexander Dunlop at the age of 48.

John leaves behind his beloved children Alex and Autumn, his mother Sharon, his sister Catharine, brothers Matthew and Christopher and stepmother Geri; and, most notably, many close friends within the Barrie community who will, no doubt, miss him dearly.

John was predeceased by his father, John Anthony Dunlop, in 2008. A loss which affected John deeply.

John was a wayfarer, a free spirit and an artist in every sense—he loved to sketch, write poetry, and share great meals with dear friends.

John was happiest when he was free to explore – both the outside world of his beloved community and, also, the journey within. May his spirit now be free to fly onto new adventures; and may all who loved him feel comfort in knowing he loved you also, deeply.
