John Floyd Dugan

October 2, 1938 — September 8, 2025

About a week after questioning whether the nurses at Montfort hospital "know how a man works," John aka Jack Floyd Dugan (born October 2nd, 1938) passed away at the age of 86 on September 8th, 2025. Jack was a man full of quirks and peculiarities - from inventing acronyms like "DDAM" (drunk drivers against mothers) to pontificating on a wide variety of topics like corporate gangsterism or the dangers of sugar (shout out to Linus Pauling).

He was incredibly determined and intelligent. When he wanted a nice deck with shade, he built one. When he couldn't find a good enough Swedish-English dictionary, he wrote one. Pun intended, he was truly a Jack of all trades - learning all sorts of languages, sewing his own quilt made from old shirts, guitar plucking, computer coding, and anything you can imagine. The way he lived life exactly the way he wanted to will be remembered and cherished by his surviving family - his wife, Jean, his two children, Robert (Lisa) and Angela (Gregory), his grandchildren, Stephanie, Nathalie, Jordan, Brittany, and Samantha, and his great-grandchild, Lily.

A special thank you for the attention and care given to Jack by the team at Montfort - we appreciate your kindness and dedication.

Farewell to Nova Scotia and farewell to you, Jack. We'll miss you dearly.
