Obituary

Jo-Ann Elizabeth Gray passed away peacefully on January 16th 2026 after a courageous and extremely hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jo-Ann dedicated her working life to service and operations management. She was employed by the LCBO for 30+ years where she was respected for her strong customer engagement, business skills and willingness and ability to transfer knowledge and train new staff. Her kind and genuine personality built strong working relationships which extended far beyond work.

Born on April 14th 1968 in Brockville Ontario, Jo-Ann was known for her competitive spirit. Jo-Ann was an avid member of the Brockville Collegiate Institute’s rowing team, bringing home new title wins in local and international regattas. Jo-Ann continued to find great happiness in outdoor activities her entire life with hobbies consisting of swimming and long walks or hikes with family and friends.

Being a mother and grandmother brought Jo-Ann immense happiness. Her sons Jacob Montreuil (Amanda Bulua) and Nicholas Montreuil (Selyna Aubut) were the greatest joys of her life. She demonstrated unwavering love and dedication to her two sons evident by her uncanny ability to always know what they needed even before they did. She cherished her role as grandmother to her beloved grandson, Vincent Montreuil, whose arrival brought her so much excitement.

Jo-Ann’s passing is a tremendous loss to all who knew her as she was a uniquely genuine and kind person with a great sense of humor, endless empathy and generosity. She had the wonderful ability to make her family and friends feel truly and unconditionally loved. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
