Jina Lynn Groh

August 9, 1947 — December 1, 2023

Jina Lynn Groh was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Aug 9, 1947. She passed away Dec 1, 2023 at RVH in Barrie, Ontario, after a long slow decline in her health. Jina was only 77.

Jina is survived by sons, Damon and Jason Groh, grandkids Evan, and Carter, brothers Scott, and Jamie Hardie and their wives, Wanda, and Sydney, nephews Samuel, and Thomas, and loving sister Sharon Boylan, and family. Jina was blessed with lifetime friends, Dyan Gundert, Anne and Jeff Pollard, and extended family members like Jan and Charlie Mills. Jina was predeceased by her Mother Betty Joyce Hardie and father Eugene Cecil Hardie…of whom she often thought of still.

It’s crazy to have such a small space to work with for such a large life, but, here goes.

Never stopping since she first made her debut in Canada, clinging to her ‘wild at heart’ Mother on the back of an Indian motorcycle at the age of 5, Jina grew up and fell in love in Gravenhurst, Ontario. After leaving school post grade 10 and marrying Mike Groh, Jina had two sons, Jason and Damon, and hasn’t stopped moving since. Early in their marriage, Jina’s late husband's work often had them splitting time between Vancouver, Calgary, and Mississauga.

The 80’s found Jina spending summers at the family campground in Parry Sound, which were like a two month reunion with nephews, nieces, uncles and was precious to all.

After a divorce, Jina made up for traditional education by looking for and taking every opportunity she found, which led her to a career in property management.

Laterally, Jina settled in Innisfil, close to many family and friends. Even struggling with COPD, Jina stretched out her life’s trip with shopping and good food shared with family and friends. In the end, Jina might say that one of the few advantages of knowing you are dying, is that you no longer worrying about what you eat, or pleasing others, and you get to stop moving…finally.

We love you Jina.
