Jeryl Lee Jaque

Jeryl “JJ” Jaque passed away peacefully at Trillium Mississauga Hospital on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Lacombe, Alberta on March 10, 1946, JJ lived a seasoned life filled with humor, wisdom, and warmth. He is survived by his beloved wife Raymonde, his son Charles-Étienne, in whom he took great pride, and daughter-in-law Victoria, his brother Don and sister-in-law Sandy, his sister Joann and brother-in-law Charles, his brothers-in-law Réal and the late Monique, and Georges and Manon, along with a lively crew of nieces and nephews and their families, who will fondly remember his stories, humor, and generous spirit.

Professionally, JJ led a fulfilling career as a consultant for retail developments during the GTA’s period of rapid growth and expansion in the 1990s. Beyond his work, JJ was a man of wit and curiosity, known for his love of animals, his endless appetite for books, and his gift for finding lightness even in life’s more challenging moments.

Engaging and thoughtful, he always had stories to tell and wisdom to share with those around him, leaving conversations brighter and richer. He often reminded others — borrowing from Rudyard Kipling — that “a man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition.” This favorite saying reflected both his enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures and his ever-present sense of humor.

In honor of JJ’s love for animals, donations may be made to the Etobicoke Humane Society in his memory at: www.EtobicokeHumaneSociety.com/Donate

We celebrate JJ for his humor, his wisdom, and his kindness — qualities that touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
