It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jaynie Elizabeth Totten (57) of Waubaushene, Ontario. On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, Jaynie peacefully passed away.
Charles (Sandy) Totten and Sharon Cotton (Totten) became parents to Jaynie on June 24th, 1969, in Barrie, Ontario. Jaynie spent much of her childhood and teenage years in Big Bay Point with friends & family (sister Shelley Totten; nephews Riley & Bentley Totten). Jaynie later became an Early Childhood Educator, where she spent several years teaching and nurturing many children. Her knowledge and kind heart touched many students, families, and coworkers.
Jaynie was known for her creative and brilliant mind! She always had endless ideas and projects on the go. Nature was her happy place. Her gardens were always healthy and beautiful each year. She would rescue or house any animals, no matter the size! Jaynie would go out of her way for family, friends, or a stranger to make their day brighter. Her adventurous, beautiful soul will be greatly missed but carried on through her daughter, Zoë Totten-Coulter. Zoë was the centre of Jaynie’s world, and the love they shared was a bond that will continue far beyond her passing.
A small private gathering in the spring will take place as per her wishes.
Jaynie supported organizations such as the Ontario SPCA, Wye Marsh, and Special Olympics Ontario. Donations can be made in her honour.
