Jamie Patrick (Smith) Boland

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jamie Patrick (Smith) Boland, who left this world on May 3, 2025, in Ottawa. Jamie was born on November 21, 1981, and his life, though ended too soon, was filled with love, compassion, and cherished memories.

After several months of being missed by those who loved him, Jamie's absence will be deeply felt by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved partner, Danica Lusk, and his stepchildren, Loic and Brianna, who will carry forward the memory of his warmth and kindness. Jamie also leaves behind his large mixed family including half-brother, Justin Smith. In due course he was able to renew contact with brother, Matthew, sister, Ainsley. Stepdad Tom Boland was ever present during his formative years including hockey practices, car rallies, and baseball, and soccer tournament. Younger brother, Bryan Boland (Kristin) was never far behind. He is also remembered fondly by many uncles and cousins residing in both Ottawa and Ireland. There was always great time when we got together with aunt Gail, cousins Debbie, Darlena, and Tommy Ussleman. 

Jamie was not only a devoted family member, but he was also a faithful friend to Andrea Smith, Shauna Frappier, Jared Tufts, and John Martin. His relationships were a testament to his loyalty and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.

Jamie was predeceased by his father, Gary Smith, in 2024, and his mother, Pamela Boland, in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Gord and Anita Smith, as well as Gerald and Evelyn Seguin.

A Mass to celebrate Jamie's life will be held on August 27, 2025, at Our Lady of the Visitation in Ottawa, beginning at 11:00 AM. The service will conclude at 12:00 PM, followed by internment at the Parish Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join a reception where food and beverages will be served. An open mic will be available for those who wish to share kind words, heartfelt memories, and love for Jamie.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched during his time among us.
