James McDonald

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of James McDonald, who died peacefully on December 9th at Mississauga Trillium Hospital, at the age of 67. Born on February 14, 1958, in Chinguacousy Township, James was the beloved son of the late James and Doris McDonald, and was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.

James married his beloved wife, Linda, on November 27, 1985, and together they shared 40 years of marriage. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michael (Diana) and Chris (Christina); his granddaughters, Makaila and Gabriella; and his siblings, Danny (Gloria, predeceased), Paul (Linda), Patricia, Robert, Joyce (Randy), Jerry, and Andy.

James was a man of great kindness whose door was always open and who was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved to cook for others and found joy in bringing people together around a shared meal. He also had a deep love of fishing and proudly held the Ontario record for Atlantic salmon. He built a successful career as a contractor and was well known for generously assisting others with their projects and problems. James touched the lives of many through his compassion, generosity, and warmth, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium on Saturday, December 20th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
