It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) Edward Mahoney announces his passing on January 3, 2026, at the age of 86.

Cherished husband and best friend of the late Diane Fox (36 years together), Jim is survived by his daughter Anne (late Réal), sons Raymond (Céline) and James Jr. (Sophie), stepdaughter Lori Fox (Simon) and stepson Michael Fox. He was also adoring Pépère to his grandchildren Marilou Mahoney (Nicolas), Émilie Mahoney, James III Mahoney and Oliver Glavina, and upcoming great-grandson, bébé Breton.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Raymond Mahoney and Mary (née Blake), his sister Sheila and his brothers Brian and Michael. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim will be remembered as a hardworking man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished time spent with his family, enjoyed cottage life, and could often be found relaxing in his recliner while watching hockey. Jim’s beautiful smile will be fondly remembered, and he will be forever cherished in the hearts and lives of his family.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
